Creekside Campout at Blue Hole Regional Park
Escape into nature for a starlit adventure at Creekside Campout on March 8, 2025, at Blue Hole Regional Park! This exclusive one-night camping experience offers the perfect way to unplug and unwind beside the scenic Cypress Creek. Enjoy a cozy campfire, guided night hike, and stargazing, all while soaking in the peaceful surroundings.
Registration is required, and spots fill up fast! Campsites are $30 each, accommodating up to five people per tent. Bring your own camping gear, meals, and cooking utensils—but don’t worry, s’mores are provided! Please note that alcohol, smoking/vaping, fishing, and pets are not permitted.
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, with check-out at 11:00 AM the next morning.
Camp No Kids: A Summer Camp Experience—Just for Adults!

On March 29, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM, embrace a fun-filled day of adventure, designed exclusively for adults (21+). Experience the magic of live music under the stars at the 13th annual Concert in the Park series at Blue Hole Regional Park! Hosted by Friends of Wimberley Parks and the City of Wimberley Parks and Recreation Department, this free concert series takes place every Friday night in April from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Bring your blankets, chairs, and picnic and settle in for an evening of great music at the scenic Blue Hole Swimming Area. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this is a perfect way to enjoy Wimberley’s vibrant music scene.
Enjoy the Butterfly Festival at Emily Ann Theater & Gardens
Celebrate the delicate beauty of butterflies at the Butterfly Festival hosted by the Emily Ann Theater and Gardens
The 2025 Butterfly Festival is at EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens on April 12, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM—a beloved Wimberley tradition where the butterflies take flight, rain or shine! This free, family-friendly event is one of EmilyAnn’s biggest fundraisers, with donation boxes available throughout the festival grounds to support this wonderful cause.
Kick off the day with a special opening ceremony and memorial butterfly release (9:00-10:00 AM), followed by a full lineup of butterfly releases every 30 minutes, live entertainment, and hands-on activities for all ages. Explore the Butterfly Flight House, meet adorable mini donkeys, horses, and llamas, and enjoy fun-filled attractions like the Butterfly Train, crafts, face painting, and interactive games including pickleball, hula hoops, and chalk art.
Don’t forget to stop by the Butterfly Store for festival t-shirts, tote bags, and live butterflies in their own little homes! Parking is available at Wimberley High School, with a convenient walkway leading to the festival grounds.
Wimberley Film Festival: Movies Under the Stars
Get ready for an unforgettable evening of cinema, music, and community at the 2nd annual Wimberley Film Festival! In partnership with Netta Lou Creative, this outdoor film experience takes place at the stunning Blue Hole Regional Park on April 12, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Enjoy an incredible lineup of Texas-made short films, live music, and a vibrant mix of local vendors, food, and beverages—all set against the breathtaking backdrop of towering cypress trees and the crystal-clear waters of Blue Hole.
Advance tickets are just $15 ($20 at the door) and include film screenings, live entertainment, and even swimming—so bring your swimsuit, lawn chairs, and blankets for a cozy night under the stars! Kids 10 and under attend free, but please note that some films may be rated PG-13.

Bring your family and friends to gaze at the stars and enjoy fascinating presentations by the Wimberley Dark Sky Committee. The Texas State Astronomy Club will also be on hand to share their telescopes and knowledge.
Pro-Tips: Don’t forget to bring lawn chairs or a blanket, a picnic, and a flashlight to enhance your stargazing experience. The event takes place at the soccer fields at Blue Hole Regional Park, where restrooms and water fountains are accessible throughout the event. Note that the event is weather permitting, including heavy cloud coverage.
