There’s nothing more that screams Texas than a rodeo experience! The Rodeo comes to Wimberley over Memorial Day weekend, on May 25th and 26th, 2024, at the VFW Arena on 401 Jacobs Well Rd. This event is not just about the excitement of bull riding and barrel racing; it’s also a fantastic opportunity to support the local community. The Wimberley 4-H and the Wimberley Memorial Day Open Pro Rodeo join forces to bring you two action-packed days of rodeo fun. Pro tip: Arrive early to secure free parking and make the most of the festivities, gates usually open at 5:30pm and the rodeo starts promptly at 8:00pm. The arena will be buzzing with activity, featuring numerous vendor booths and concessions, including tempting options like snow cones and BBQ. Feel free to BYOB and settle in for a memorable evening. With general admission priced at $15 for adults and $5 for kids (5 and under free), it’s an affordable and entertaining way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend in true Texan style.

Swimming at Blue Hole Regional Park
While they aren’t allowing swimming at the moment due to decreased water levels, we’re hopeful that they’ll open for the Summer 24 season. To find up to date information about Blue Hole Regional Park, take a look at their website. Swim season is May 1st through Labor Day, as well as weekends in September. All other recreational areas including our hiking trails, playground, and picnic areas are free, open to the public, and do not require reservations. **Currently, Wimberley Parks and Recreation plans to sell reservation tickets for the swim area, both half day and season passes. Non-resident reservations start April 1, 2024.**
