Dates: Market Days take place on the first Saturday of every month, from March through December. In case the first Saturday falls on a holiday weekend, the market may take place on the second Saturday instead.

Times: The market is open from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm

Address: Market Day is located in the heart of downtown Wimberley, at 14068 Ranch Road 12, Wimberley, TX 78676.

Parking: Parking is a $5 donation per car. Parking can be a bit challenging during Market Day, as the town gets very busy with visitors. We recommend going as early as possible.

Pro Tips when visiting Market Days

-It’s recommended to arrive early in the morning to avoid crowds and have a better chance of finding parking.

-Bring your own reusable bags to carry your purchases, vendors may or may not have bags for you (plus, you’re doing your bit to keep Wimberley sustainable). Wagons & volunteers are available for a donation to help you get your treasures to your car. 

-Wear comfortable shoes and clothing as the market is held outdoors and can get hot during the summer months.

-There are other parking options nearby, including: Cowboy Church, Katherine Anne Porter School, Scudder Elementary and a couple of private homes and lots (price may vary).

-There are ATMs available at the market, but you may want to make sure to bring your own cash. Many times the ATMs will run out of cash on busy market days. Many vendors take credit cards.

Planning your trip to the Wimberley Valley is key with so many fun things to do. 

Looking to Swim in one of the famous waterways? Check out Jacob’s Well Natural Area or Blue Hole Reginal Park. Both are sure to be a one-of-a-kind experience. Jacob’s Well is a swimming hole created from an artesian spring and underground cave system. There is hiking and swimming in the Natural Area, but make sure to make reservations if you want to swim. The Blue Hole is a swimming hole with tree swings and platforms, and it includes trails, picnic spots, an amphitheater, and more; again, a reservation is required for swimming so plan ahead. We recommend booking online well in advance. Plus, Cypress Falls Swimming Hole offers water toys and a bar. Wimberley Getaways also has properties on the water, click here to check them out.

Maybe shopping is what you love…if so, not only do we have some nice boutiques there are also Market Days on the first Saturday of every month (March-December). Some of my favorite shops are River House, Cypress Creek Lavender, Los Olivos, Rancho Deluxe, Blue Willow, and ACE Hardware (gift shop). Whether you’re planning a girl’s trip or looking for some unique gifts our little town will sure help create some memories.  

Many people also love the Arts and cultural side of our eclectic town. If this sounds like something right up your alley then let’s dive in. First off, there are some really great art galleries like: Art on 12, Pitzer’s Fine Arts, Wildflower Art Gallery, Wandering Oaks Fine Art Gallery, and Base Camp Gallery. My favorite is Bootiful Wimberley which is a collection of 50 Boots all over Wimberley that have been hand-painted by local artists, totally Instagram worthy if you ask me! Glass Art is also a thing in Wimberley. You should check out a demonstration at Wimberley Glassworks or stop by the Silo Gallery & Glass Studio.  

Drinks Please! Who doesn’t love to enjoy a refreshing drink while on vacation? There is something for everyone. Winery check, Brewery check, Coffee check, Rum check, Sweet Tea check. Here are my go-to places: The Wimberley Valley Winery, Middleton’s Brewery, and Cactus Coffee. Plus, there are plenty of great spots to enjoy a meal and a drink like Wimberley Café, Los Olivos, The Creek House, Chills on the Creek, Hays City Store, Savages, and more.

  • Saturday we will be diving into a Pinterest DIY project. Don’t worry I will provide all the supplies and an instructor. 

Weekends of February 11-13th and 18-20th:  

  • After your drive, relax a little and hang out by the Fire Friday night; show off your strategic game skills while playing some cards or a board game. Light snacks are provided as well.  
  • Stay Cozy in your suite Saturday morning and we will deliver a delicious Breakfast to your door.  

Plus, the Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance is putting on a story fest which will be an expanded four-day event featuring a mix of poets and authors, musicians and songwriters, dramatists, extraordinary traditional storytellers, and stories that have a compelling visual component – this is a story in all its forms. Each storytime will take place in an iconic Wimberley location.

Wimberley this Winter

If you are wondering what’s happening in Wimberley this Winter there is a lot of options. This little Hill Country town always has something to offer and whether you are looking for a fun activity for the family, a romantic getaway, or a wedding venue Wimberley definitely can accommodate. Most travelers visit Wimberley in the Spring and Summer to enjoy the famous waters of Blue Hole or Jacob’s Well, but there are plenty of reasons to visit in the Winter. 

In December one of our local non-profit’s Emily Ann Theater and Garden hosts the Trail of Light’s where the gardens from summer turn into a beautiful display of lights. Local business and such set up displays for all to enjoy. Definitely, a place to bring the kids, family, and friends. On Wednesday, December 22, 2021, Messina Inn will be hosting Hot Cocoa by the fire and Jesse Stratton Band will be playing some great Country Tunes. Bring the Kids to meet Santa, take fun photo’s with the interactive displays, and warm up by the fire with a cup of Hot Cocoa. Plus, Wimberley has several other Holiday related events throughout the month as well. 

Then we jump right into the new year with a Polar Bear Plunge and 5K on the 1st of January at Blue Hole. But there is more to do here than just events. Wimberley is full of arts and culture as well. There are 50 boots throughout our town that are each hand-painted by artists, there are several art galleries in the area too; each featuring something different. If you are looking to get out of the hustle and bustle of the big city and want something different to do then come to see what our town has to offer.

Polar Bear Plung:

  Blue Hole Polar Bear Plunge and Fun Run – Splash Blue Hole Polar Bear Plunge and Fun Run – Splash – Celebrate the New Year on January 1st with Blue Hole Regional Park’s third annual Polar Bear Plunge & Fun Run! The event will start off with a 5K Fun Run at 10am and a 1K Fun Run will begin at 11am. Tickets are $20 per person and it includes admission to the 5K or 1K Fun Run, a special edition Blue Hole Polar Bear Plunge T-shirt, and a swag bag!
